Under the leadership of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation (AKF) «The Best of the Year» prize was first awarded. At the initiative of the general sponsor - the International Bank of Azerbaijan prizes were awarded to athletes, coaches, judges, regions, clubs and partners who have achieved the highest achievements in various fields.
Prizes of this nomination were awarded to members of the Senior Team - Niyazi Aliyev, Nurana Aliyeva and Tural Baldjanly (kata), members of the Cadet and Junior Team - Farida Aliyeva, Ulvi Guliyev and Roman Heydarov (kata), Chairman of the Coaching Committee and the Head Coach of the National Team Rahman Hatamov and Chairman of the Judicial Committee, a judge of the international category Jahangir Babaev.
«The Best Region» prize was presented to the city of Sumgait and its official representative Akif Kerimov, «Garagaplan» Club became the winner in the category «The Best Club» and the prize was awarded to coaches Shahin Khudaverdiyev and Jahangir Babaev, the prize in the category «Best Partner» was awarded to «Cihan» Advertising Company.
The prizes were presented by the President of the Federation Yashar Bashirov, the First Vice-president of the Federation, the Official Representative of the General Sponsor Ilham Gasymzadeh, Vice-president Yusif Mammadov and General Secretary Mirdjabbar Seyidov.
