The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Raden Prayono Atiyanto received Azerbaijani fighters, who have won 3 silver and 1 bronze medals at 9th World Karate Cadet, Junior and U21 Championships in Jakarta and the leadership of the federation.
The ambassador, who noted that he watched with interest the results of the competition, congratulated our karatekas on this achievement and wished them success in the future competitions. P.Atiyanto expressed his willingness to cooperate fully with the exchange of experience between the Indonesian and Azerbaijani athletes.
The President of the Azerbaijan National Karate Federation Yashar Bashirov expressed satisfaction with the meeting and thanked Prayono Atiyanto for sincere reception. The Federation President recalled the high results shown by the Azerbaijani athletes in the 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang, Indonesia, as well as in First European Games held in June. He stressed that the country's President and the Head of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev, together with other sports and pays special attention to karate.
He briefed the Embassy staff on the success made with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as owing to the sponsorship of the International Bank of Azerbaijan in various international competitions and set goals. Yashar Bashirov told about that great support given to the National Team in the World Championship by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Indonesia Tamerlan Garayev and Embassy staff, and expressed his gratitude to both public authorities. After the speeches Prayono Atiyanto and Yashar Bashirov exchanged gifts.
