The Azerbaijan Karate Federation (AKF) held a press conference on the results of 2014. The President of AKF Yashar Bashirov told the media that the year was a successful and also spoke about the achievements and progress. Yashar Bashirov said that our athletes have won 196 medals, including 67 gold, 37 silver and 92 bronze medals at 17 international tournaments. He also noted that the victory of our team at the European Championships in kumite competition was a gift for the 20th anniversary of the Federation.
The First Vice-president of the Federation, the official representative of the general sponsor - the International Bank of Azerbaijan Ilham Gasymzadeh in answers to journalists' questions appreciated the great achievements as a striking example of attention and support. I. Gasymzadeh said that the continuous development of the federation is under the attention of IBA Chairman Jahangir Hajiyev.
The Vice-president of the Federation Yusif Mammadov, Secretary General Mirdjabbar Seyidov and Head Coach of the National Team Rahman Hatamov also answered reporters' questions. Officials at the press conference said that the preparatory work for the Baku 2015 First European Games are held at a high level and they expect from our karate high results in this prestigious competition.
The press conference continued with the presentation of the new website of the Federation and the award of prizes to the winners in various categories.
