The National Olympic Committee summed up the results of 2016, the award ceremony for athletes and sports specialists was held.
Participating in the ceremony, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the President of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev, in a traditional meeting with the sports community, proudly told about the achievements and noted that the results, which are increasing every year, are pleasing and positively affecting the international image of Azerbaijan.
After the speech, the head of state presented honorary titles and prizes to sportsmen and sports specialists who achieved high results in 2016. Just like in previous years, the effective activity of the Azerbaijan National Karate Federation (ANKF) was not left without attention. The senior kata coach, Honored Trainer Vagid Ayvazov, was given a certificate for a new apartment.
On behalf of the team, ANKF President Yashar Bashirov expressed gratitude to the head of state and the president of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev for constant attention and care and assured that the Federation will continue to justify the trust placed in them at a high level.
Yashar Bashirov thanked the Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, the vice president of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade, as well as the management of the main sponsor - the International Bank of Azerbaijan for support in achieving the Federation's successes and expressed confidence that joint efforts will allow winning great victories in the future.
