The National Karate Federation held a meeting dedicated to the 25th January tragedy. At the event the memory of martyrs was honored with a moment of silence by the leadership of the Federation, the coaching and judiciary staff, as well as athletes.
The President of the Federation Yashar Bashirov, the First Vice-president of the Federation and the official representative of the General Sponsor - the International Bank of Azerbaijan Ilham Gasymzadeh, Vice-president Yusif Mammadov and Head Coach Rahman Hatamov made a speech on January events that occupy a significant place in the history of our country, condemned the genocide against our people.
To the notice of the participants were brought that after the tragedy perpetrated by the Soviet Army in Baku 25 years ago, President Ilham Aliyev held a large number of events in the direction of strengthening social protection and increasing state support for the families of those killed in that tragic day and persons who have become disabled as a result of the tragic events.
The leadership of the Federation said that the team of cadets and juniors, who won the Grand Prix tournament in Croatia on 17-18 January 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals, dedicated their success to the eternal memory of 20 January martyrs.
It was also mentioned at the event that the children of martyrs who died in the battles for the freedom and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, trained freely in all karate groups of the country. At the end of the event the leadership of the Federation noted that the memory of martyrs will always be honored with great respect.
