     The leadership of the National Karate Federation of Azerbaijan (ANKF) held a meeting, dedicated to the results of January, at a meeting awards were presented to athletes who won medals at 2 international tournaments. First, with a moment of silence was commemorated the suddenly died master of sports Zabit Babaev - Federation Coach, the head of «Sakura» martial arts club. President of ANKF Yashar Bashirov said in his speech that the past month was memorized by a number of successes, in particular, athletes in various age categories won 8 medals at two competitions.

     At the meeting, which was attended by members of the national teams among cadets, juniors, as well as among older athletes, the first vice-president of the federation, the official representative of the general sponsor of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Ilham Gasimzadeh, Vice-President Yusif Mammadov, chairman of the coaching committee - head coach of the national team Rahman Hatamov, chairman of the judiciary committee - international judge Jahangir Babaev and senior coaches of the teams, were discussed the details of the «Grand Prix» tournament in Croatia among athletes of little age groups, as well as the Premier League competition «Open De Paris», which was attended by adult karatekas.

     With the approval was mentioned the victory of junior team member Gummat Bakhshaliyev (-52 kg) and team leader in the age group 16-17 years Ulvi Gurbanov (61 kg), silver medals of Farida Aliyeva (+59) in the age group 16-17 years and Sevinj Mehdieva (-50 kg) in the age group 18-20 years, the bronze medals of Murad Balakishiev (-70 kg) and Murad Hajizadeh (+70 kg) in the age group 14-15 years, as well as bronze medals of the captain of the national team Shahin Atamov (+84 kg) and Tural Agalarzade (+67 kg). The results of many athletes were regarded as satisfactory.

     In the category «persistent fighter», established by the IBA, prizes were awarded to Rafael Aghayev, remained without medals through the fault of the referees at competitions of Premier League in France and to the bronze medalist of the Croatian Grand Prix Murad Balakishiev. 

     Winners of the Premier League - Shahin Atamov (+84 kg) and Tural Agalarzade (-67 kg) were awarded with cash prizes and gifts also were presented to Niyazi Aliyev and Roman Heydarov, who celebrated birthdays.

     At the end of the meeting appropriate instructions have been given to the athletes who in the first half of February will go to the European Championship among cadets and juniors to be held in Switzerland and then to the next Premier League tournament in the Netherlands. The federation leaders wished good luck to our athletes.
