Our national team among cadets and juniors went to the European Championship. The European Championship in Zurich, Switzerland, will be attended by 23 our sportsmen in three age groups.
21 sportsmen will participate in kumite competitions, 2 athletes will enter the battle for medals in kata competitions. Our athletes have returned home with the success from the Croatian Grand Prix, completed preparations for the upcoming competitions having held fruitful training camp (photos on Facebook official website).
Senior coach of the junior team in the age group 14-15 years, honored coach Anar Abdullayev chose the following athletes: Gummat Bakhshaliyev (-52 kg), Riad Feyzizade (-63 kg), Murad Balakishiev (-70 kg), Murad Hajizadeh (+70 kg), Fidan Teymurova (-47 kg), Basti Ismailova (+54 kg).
Senior coach of the team in the age group 16-17 years, honored coach Shahin Khudaverdiev gave preference to Ulvi Gurbanly (- 61 kg), Huseyn Aliyev (-68 kg), Isa Mammadov (-76 kg), Veli Veliyev (+76 kg), Asiya Melikova (-48 kg), Aytaj Aliyeva (- 53 kg), Farida Aliyeva (+59 kg).
Nijat Abbasov (-60 kg), Uzeyir Alishanov (-67 kg), Shahin Guluzade (-75 kg), Tural Kamally (-84 kg), Rasul Alizadeh (+84 kg), Sevinj Mehdieva (- 50 kg), Farida Abiyeva (-61 kg) and Aytan Samedli (-68 kg) will enter the tatami in the age group 18-20 years.
Kata senior coach Vahid Ayvazov looks forward to great achievements of Roman Heydarov in the age group 16-17 years and Rafik Amirov in the age group 18-20 years. Four international judges of the National Karate Federation - Vice-president of the Federation Yusif Mammadov, the chairman of the judiciary committee Jahangir Babaev, Renad Aliyev and Vugar Karimov will be introduced at the European Championship. The Secretary for Media and Public Sanan Magerramov was seconded to Switzerland for transfer of operative information, online results, photo and video broadcasts.
A delegation of 34 people, went to Zurich for the European Championship among cadets and juniors, to be held on February 4-9, will be leaded by the Federation President Yashar Bashirov and the First Vice-President of the Federation, the official representative of the general sponsor of the International Bank of Azerbaijan, Ilham Gasimzadeh.
