The national team won the karate honorary title of «The Best National Team of 2014» of the traditional premium of sporting achievements «Zəfər», established by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and «Sportsman» sports magazine.
At the annual prestigious sporting event, the award «The Best National Team of 2014» was presented to the President of the Federation Yashar Bashirov and head coach Rahman Hatamov by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Ismail Ismailov. We would like to remind that, in spite of the fact that our national team was a finalist of the World Cup, for the first time the gold in the team event was won in 2013 at the Islamic Games. And last year we first became European Champion in the team competition in Finland. Another aim of the national team is to defend the title of European Champions in the competition, which will be held in mid March in Istanbul.
