Istanbul hosted the next Congress of the European Karate Federation. The proposal of the President of the Azerbaijan National Karate Federation, member of the Technical Committee of the World Karate Federation Yashar Bashirov to hold the 55th European Championship in Baku in 2020 was positively received and approved. Yashar Bashirov noted in his speech that Azerbaijan state provides all possible support for large-scale events. Coming European Games and Islamic Games in 2017 are proof of this.
Yashar Bashirov also noted that these positive showings are the result of attention and care of the head of state, President of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev, and reported on the belief that after 5 years, the European Championship will be held in our capital at a high level.
The Manager of Baku-2015 European Games Karate Dmitry Chiginev, participating at the congress, made a speech with detailed information about the upcoming prestigious competition, spoke about the preparatory work. European Karate family is looking forward to the European Game and the inclusion of karate in the program of the competition is seen as a significant step towards the inclusion of karate in the Olympic program.
