Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov received Azerbaijani karatekas, successfully performed at the 50th European Championships in Istanbul. The meeting was attended by President of the Federation of Karate-Azerbaijan (FSA), the deputy took part Ulvi Guliyev, first vice-president of the Federation Fuzuli Musayev, as well as the first vice-president of the National Karate Federation of Azerbaijan, the official representative of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Ilham Gasimzadeh, athletes, won medals at the European Championships.
Minister Azad Rahimov appreciated the fact that the Azerbaijani karate - one of the favorites for the first European Games Baku - 2015, took third place in the team competition, winning 2 gold, 1 silver medal at the European Championships, said he hoped that this success will not last. Minister gave a brief overview of the preparations for the European Games, also said that a good result, which demonstrated our karatekas at the European Championship, gave him an extra incentive. Azad Rahimov said that he hoped that the number of young men who are engaged in karate in our country, which is on a war footing to grow. The head of the sports department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Mirkamil Rahimov said the ministry has always supported karatekas in different directions.
President of the FSA, the deputy Ulvi Guliyev thanked the government for its support and noted that the initiative of the Head of State, President of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev for the inclusion of karate in the program of the first European Games will have a positive impact on only on the development of this sport in our country, but also his the inclusion in the Olympic program. W. Guliyev said that he hoped that our karatekas successfully perform at important competitions organized at the highest level under the leadership of the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the first European Games, MP Mehriban Aliyeva.
First Vice-President of FSA Fuzuli Musayev said that our karatekas always justify their trust and this is a very happy event.
First Vice-President and spokesman NFKA IBA Ilham Gasimzadeh thanked the Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov for the meeting, and said that they are with a responsible approach to the goal under the leadership of President of the Federation Yashar Bashirov. He also said that to achieve a successful outcome of the national team under the leadership of head coach Rahman Hatamova general sponsor carries out all works at the highest level in this direction. He also said that the preparatory work came at a heightened level, given the fact that before European games left quite a bit of time, and noted that the national team will delight people of Azerbaijan in the first days of the competition.
